Today, Agrocalidad clarified an earlier prohibition on travelers bringing certain agricultural and livestock products into Ecuador. It now says hams and pasteurized dairy products that do not exceed 10 kilos may enter Ecuador if they have a Zoosanitary Export Certificate of the country of origin. Also, items are exempted from obtaining the Sanitary Import Permit or the Sanitary Import Document in the following cases: luggage accompanied by passengers and crew, provided the items are properly packaged and labeled: Pasteurized dairy products up to 5 kg. or a single cheese not exceeding 10 kg.; vacuum sealed sausages up to 5 kg. or a single piece not exceeding 10 kg.; boneless cooked or vacuum-packed ham up to 5 kg. or a single piece not exceeding 10 kg. All these products may enter with travelers as long as they come from countries that have import sanitary requirements and formal trade is maintained. You can use the following Agrocalidad link to see if the product you plan to bring in is allowed.
