First, the bad news! I am no longer able to coordinate the sweater warehouse tours (too many other responsibilities!). Now for the good news! The sweater warehouse has been around for 21 years and will continue to around for many more, so everyone can arrange for their own warehouse tour. The tour group today had a fabulous time and saw a demonstration of yarn dying. Many sweaters were purchased and many were ordered! (Ordered sweaters are ready in about one week!) You can also purchase beautiful yarn there!
I would recommend that you get a group of friends together, call the warehouse owner to set up a tour time and then go and
have fun! When you call, let him know if you will be interested in the yarn dying demonstration. Also, if you would prefer to talk with him face to face instead of on the phone, the best time to catch him at the warehouse is in the morning.
The warehouse is called WINTER HOUSE. The owner is named Luis Tituaña and he doesn’t speak English (he’s learning….but whoever arranges your tour will need to speak Spanish). His cell # is 099 729 6942. Warehouse location: on the street that runs along the side of the Multievents which is at the corner of Modesto Peñaherrera and Alejandro Proaño (no street sign). Walk on Alejandro Proaño in the direction away from the Multieventos and the warehouse will be on the right side of the street about 1/3 of the way down the block. There is a large sign above the door that says WINTER HOUSE. And they have a beautiful siberian husky who will greet you when you ring the bell! It’s a great place and you will be glad you took the time to arrange a tour for yourselves!
