If you’re in Ibarra and looking for a place to eat, you’ve got to try Caribou Bar & Grill. It is owned by a Canadian who has lived in Ibarra for years and is full of Canadian memorabilia. Between the ambiance and the good eats you’ll easily feel as though you’re in the northern wilderness instead of on the equator.
The food is delicious and the prices are jaw-droppingly low. A huge bacon cheeseburger with all the fixin’s and fries cost $4.25. My two large fajitas were $3.50. The menu is huge with loads of steaks, burgers, chicken, pastas, and Mexican food to choose from.
There are two locations. The one we ate at opened at 1 p.m. and is on Avenida Perez Guerrero near the Iglesia Basilica La Dolorosa. Another larger locale is near Parque de la Familia on Sanchez y Mena, but doesn’t open until 5 p.m. Closed Sundays
thank you to Wendy Hetlet DeChambeau for the recommendation
