Yes it is about time to renew my Canadian Passport – so I sent a message off to the embassy – it can be done here!

Thank you for your email. Please note you will need 20 working days to have a new regular passport issued.
To apply for a new Canadian Passport in Quito, Guayaquil or by mail, the following is required:
– Simplified form PPTC482 (if you are eligible) that you can find at www.pptc.gc.ca
– Previous passport
– 2 photos (must comply passport Canada regulations, please see instructions)
COSTS (cash, certified check or credit card payment-authorization here):
– 5 year regular passport 175 USD or 190 CAD (ready in 20 working days)
– 10 Year Regular Passport 240 USD or 260 CAD (ready in 20 working days)
You can submit your applications at the Embassy from Monday to Friday, from 9am to noon or by mail (DHL and Servientrega are used by Canadian Citizens to send passport applications from other cities, you can find our address below). We will send your passport and original documents back to Cotacachi to de DHL office and it does not have an additional cost.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
Please note the Embassy will be providing just emergency assistance on Friday January 9, Monday January 12 and Wednesday January 15. You are welcome to come on other dates from 9am to noon or send the documents by mail when you prefer.
