If anyone would like to burn off some holiday gains or just get their heart pumping for the fun of it there is a local Bailoterapia (aerobics) class that meets for an hour every morning at 7:30 and every night at 7:30. It’s on Pedro Moncayo about a quarter block south of Diez de Agosto (direction of the public hospital). At night it seems they do more of a salsa-type dancer-cize which looks like fun and in the morning it’s a little less rigorous but still quite invigorating. It is sponsored by a health drink company and maybe they even do have a good product.
They ask a dollar each session and they offer their “healthy drinks” for an extra cost but you can bring in your own if you prefer. The class offers an opportunity to socialize with locals of all ages in a fun atmosphere and there is no pressure to keep up. You can pass by their open door any morning or evening and see between 10 and 20 people work-out and they are friendly and welcoming and I don’t think anyone will have trouble communicating.
