Some information I have for Cuenca, specially one of the best place to eat is “Tiestos” .. every body that would go there will love the food … it’s just wonderful:

You must go here, don’t miss it, you should talk with the owner Juan Carlos Solano, he is always able to talk with customers, he speaks fluent English …. I used to talk with him when I go there with gringos and he is very gentle. Aprox $ 70.00 and 4 people can eat delicious, ask for the special with 4 meals: shrimps, chicken and beaf … Very different salads and special dresser for salads… You better call and make reservation, it’s always busy .. They have nice lunch too… for dinner go early, aprox 6h30 – 7h00 pm best time and good attention, later it’s crazy everyone goes. This restaurant won an international competition and the house is part of the World´s patrimony too … Read it on the door and walls outside when you get in … For desert nothing like their mix of chocolate with passion fruit … Every body loves it !!
